Our son received one of the Ipod devices for his birthday recently. I haven't checked it out thoroughly, but am amazed by what I have seen so far. He downloaded one of the kids shows from Disney, the speed and quality is something else. Especially for those in my age group, and older, that remember 3 television channels, black and white tvs and 8 track players.
I just wonder what the next 30 years has in store for us?

What's an "8 track" player?? Bwahahahaha!! Just had that discussion with my kids and their significant other as we sat around the table on Family Day...still remember having the 8 track player in the old Toyota Corollla!
My kids also have their Ipods and Blackberrys.....the new technology is truly amazing.

I still have some 78s and 33 1/3 records. I also have the "godfather #1 on Beta, tried to give it away on the Internet but no takers.

I still remember being in Sears when I was much younger and seeing the "new" Sony Betamax VCR...man...you almost needed two grown men and a boy just to lift the darn thing.....now there all made of plastics...weigh next to nothing and are disposable!
The watch on my wrist can now do more then many computers from not-that-long-ago.

When you had your four and eight tracks we were still playing our records and listening to the radio. The wife bought me an Apple Ipod and it will hold more music then I have time to listen to and is so small I can put it in my wallet where a credit card would go.

Hello,
Just two words to tell you about mobil phones...
Any mobile phone sold anywhere in the world can make:
- Diary
- Internet connection
- Camera (pics and video)
- music player
- radio player
- GPS
- coffee???,
- and I've forgotten many uses....
and last but not least, telephone!
I must tell you that I'm technician in mobile networks...
In private, all I need is just a phone!!!!

Yes, the phones are something. I'm happy being able to make a call! I saw some photos taken at the ATA, on a cell phone. The quality was unbelievable. We are not allowed to bring our cell phones in the building at work any longer - due to privacy issues, etc. Photo and audio recording capabilities I was told.
