I woke up today thinking off all the men and women that lost their lives at Pearl Harbor on that Dec 7Th. I also thought of all those brave men and women that fought for our freedom in the years after Pearl.

Thanks Joe. And to say a prayer for all those great men/women.
And thank those who protect our freedoms.
May God Bless them all.

I missed this post earlier. The 7th always hits home with me. My father was attached to a PBY squadron, stationed at Ford Island that morning. He, and one other, took cover beneath an aircraft tow tractor as the planes strafed the field with steel bullets. They were about 300 yards from the Battleship Arizona when it was hit.
He didn't talk about it much, but I will relay that standing watch was difficult for him. Soldiers were trapped in the ships, rescue impossible. When the tapping stopped - that left an effect.
And I've heard things about mini subs recently. My father told me the story of firing at one with a handgun. No doubt in my mind that they were used.
